Must Have Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on IBM Mainframe development experience
• Strong COBOL development experience
• Strong REXX scripting/development experience
• Strong JCL
• Strong DB2 / SQL
• Hands-on CICS
• Good knowledge of VSAM
• Experience with both Batch and Online applications
• Production support, debugging and abend handling
• Impact analysis, coding, unit testing and defect resolution
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodology

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL.
• Develop and maintain REXX scripts for automation and Mainframe utilities.
• Analyze requirements and perform impact analysis across COBOL programs, JCL, DB2 and CICS components.
• Develop and modify batch and online applications.
• Troubleshoot production issues, abends and data-related problems.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries.
• Work with VSAM files and Mainframe datasets.
• Prepare and execute unit/SIT testing.
• Support UAT and production deployments.
• Coordinate with business analysts, QA and offshore/onshore teams.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Prepare technical documentation and support release activities.
