Job Description

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: 1025 Airport Pkwy, Gainesville, GA 30501 (Hybrid)

Duration: Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Write and maintain Playwright tests (TypeScript) for UI and API across web applications
  • Practice shift-left testing: review user stories, sharpen acceptance criteria, and plan tests during grooming, before development starts
  • Test inside the sprint, pairing with developers so features ship with tests, not after them
  • Use AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Playwright MCP, or similar) to generate test cases, draft automation, and speed up analysis
  • Validate REST APIs and backend integrations using Playwright and Postman
  • Run tests in CI/CD pipelines and help keep them fast, stable, and trusted
  • Build and grow regression suites, and help migrate legacy tests to Playwright
  • Log clear defects, flag risk early, and contribute to release go/no-go decisions

Core Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in software testing or quality engineering
  • Playwright: hands-on experience writing and running automated tests (real project work, not just tutorials)
  • TypeScript / JavaScript: comfortable reading and writing test code
  • Shift-Left Practices: story review, acceptance criteria, testing early in the sprint
  • AI-Assisted Testing: practical use of AI tools in your testing workflow
  • API Testing: REST APIs, payload validation, error handling; Postman collections, environments, and assertions
  • Automation Frameworks: page objects, fixtures, handling flaky tests
  • CI/CD: running tests in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar
  • UI and Regression Testing: functional, exploratory, and regression suites
  • Testing Concepts (STLC) and Agile: sprint planning, grooming, standups, retros

What Success Looks Like

  • New features ship with Playwright coverage in the same sprint
  • Defects are caught in story review and development, not in production
  • Test suites run reliably in the pipeline, with flaky tests found and fixed fast
  • AI is part of how the team tests every day, not an experiment

Who You Are

  • Curious and eager to learn new tools and approaches
  • Detail-oriented, but practical about where testing effort matters most
  • Comfortable speaking up early when requirements are unclear or a build isn't ready
  • A team player who enjoys working closely with developers
  • Able to work onsite in Gainesville, GA, on a hybrid schedule
