Job Description
We are seeking an experienced QA Program Manager to lead and manage QA activities for legacy technology modernization projects within a Wealth Management/Financial Services environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of hands-on software testing and QA management experience, with the ability to operate at both the technical and program-management levels. The role will involve approximately 50% hands-on software testing and 50% management/leadership responsibilities.
The candidate will work closely with clients, project stakeholders, multiple vendors, and technology partners to ensure successful QA delivery across complex modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the overall QA strategy, planning, and execution for legacy-to-modern technology modernization initiatives.
· Manage QA planning, schedules, timelines, resources, deliverables, and quality objectives.
· Balance approximately 50% hands-on software testing with 50% QA management/program leadership.
· Lead and coordinate testing activities across multiple teams, applications, vendors, and technology partners.
· Manage QA activities across complex, large-scale programs with multiple workstreams.
· Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and testing schedules.
· Oversee test execution, defect management, risk identification, and issue resolution.
· Work closely with clients, business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and project leadership.
· Manage and coordinate multiple vendors and external partners to ensure effective QA delivery.
· Serve as a strong client-facing QA leader, providing regular status updates, risk assessments, and quality metrics.
· Ensure effective communication and collaboration across QA, development, business, vendor, and project teams.
· Identify and proactively manage testing risks, dependencies, issues, and delivery challenges.
· Ensure QA deliverables are completed on time and meet defined quality standards.
· Drive QA best practices, processes, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Participate in high-level stakeholder meetings and provide QA leadership and recommendations.
Requirements
· Strong experience as a QA Program Manager, QA Manager or Test Manager
· Strong experience managing QA for legacy-to-modern technology transformation/modernization projects.
· Experience leading large, complex QA programs across multiple teams and workstreams.
· Strong hands-on software testing experience along with QA management/leadership capabilities.
· Strong knowledge of QA processes, methodologies, testing life cycle, and best practices.
· Experience with test planning, test strategy, risk management, defect management, and quality reporting.
· Experience managing multiple vendors, technology partners, and distributed teams.
· Strong client-facing experience with excellent stakeholder management skills.
· Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and deliverables effectively.
· Experience working with large enterprise organizations, consulting firms, or IT services organizations.

· General Insurance or Annuity domain experience is a strong plus.
Client & Travel Expectations
· Client locations include Chicago, IL and Indianapolis, IN, with the position also supporting the listed locations above.
· Candidates should be flexible and willing to travel occasionally to the client site for high-level stakeholder meetings.
· Travel is expected to be occasional and primarily based on important client, leadership, or stakeholder engagements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on QA leader and program manager who can effectively manage large QA programs while remaining technically involved in testing activities. Candidates who have experience with legacy modernization, complex enterprise QA programs, vendor management, client-facing engagements, and Wealth Management/Insurance/Financial Services will be strongly preferred.
