Job Description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Tank Inspector to perform field inspections of aboveground and underground storage tanks for environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance. Working within our Testing, Certification, and Inspection department, you will conduct visual and NDT examinations, verify structural integrity, document findings, and support remediation planning. You'll collaborate with operations and safety teams, uphold our safety-first culture, and help clients reduce environmental risk while meeting federal, state, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of aboveground and underground storage tanks
  • Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) to assess tank integrity
  • Document inspection findings, measurements, and deficiencies in detailed reports
  • Verify compliance with federal, state, and industry codes and standards
  • Recommend corrective actions and support maintenance or remediation planning
  • Work safely in confined spaces and hazardous environments following HSE procedures
  • Collaborate with operations, safety, and project teams to schedule and complete inspections
  • Use inspection tools, gauges, and NDT equipment; maintain accurate calibration records
  • Communicate results and regulatory implications to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Travel to client sites within the region as required
