Job Description
Location: Washington, DC (On-site) We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Security Governance and Policy Analyst to serve as a principal security policy advisor supporting the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The successful candidate will provide strategic cybersecurity governance and policy guidance, translate Federal cybersecurity requirements into actionable implementation plans, and support the execution of those plans across cloud and on-premise environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Federal cybersecurity policy and governance frameworks, exceptional analytical abilities, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities Serve as a principal security policy advisor to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Provide expert guidance on Federal, DHS, and Intelligence Community (IC) cybersecurity policies and guidance. Analyze cybersecurity policies and translate them into implementable plans. Support and oversee the execution of cybersecurity governance and policy initiatives. Provide security governance recommendations for both cloud and on-premise environments. Coordinate with Government stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity policies are effectively implemented.
Develop clear, concise, and effective written communications, policy documentation, and recommendations. Support cybersecurity governance activities to ensure alignment with applicable Federal and agency requirements. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience supporting cybersecurity projects of similar size and scope. Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, DHS, and Intelligence Community (IC) cybersecurity policies and guidance. Experience working with both cloud and on-premise computing environments.
Demonstrated ability to translate cybersecurity policy into actionable implementation plans and oversee execution. Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification, in good standing.
Current or prior experience supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Demonstrated experience working within DHS organizations or on DHS cybersecurity governance and policy initiatives is highly preferred.
