Job Description

Role: Sr. Mainframe Developer with Wealth and Asset Management exp.

Location: Cincinnati, OH 

Need candidate who can work onsite form Day 1 (3 days a week)

 

Job Summary: Responsible for designing, developing, testing, configuration, contingency planning and technical support of mainframe technology. Manages products lifecycle to assure operational availability; gathers data and analyzes capacity and performance. Fulfill engineering responsibilities in the area of mainframe languages, software change management solutions, development and productivity tools.

 

Primary Responsibilities: ? Serve as mainframe Subject Matter Expert (SME). ? Participates in infrastructure planning, providing insight into the future of their area(s) of technology. ? Maintains thorough understanding of current and future infrastructure. ? Responsible for establishing, maintaining, documenting, and publishing the mainframe language and development tools directions and technology roadmaps as well as coordinating cross-departmental projects that involve mainframe application migrations. ? Demonstrates broad technical knowledge of multiple technologies, or an in-depth knowledge of one technology including its impact on other technologies. ? Maintains an industry awareness of new developments in their area of expertise; learns and applies new and emerging concepts very quickly. ? Forms productive networks with internal and external customers, the vendor community and peers in the industry. ? Ensures proper documentation of complex technical systems to facilitate effective handover to operations. ? s implementation efforts ? s the analysis of vendor proposals, evaluates build versus buy, formulates the complete project plan, establishes the critical path, coordinates vendors, builds and conducts tests, and tracks project progress. Qualifications: ? Technical Degree or related work experience. ? Requires knowledge and experience in multiple disciplines within the mainframe domain as well as strong application design and development skills. ? Expert knowledge of the Mainframe Operating System and Hardware.

 

GENERAL FUNCTION: Designs and implements technology and software solutions as a member of an agile squad. Being assigned to an agile squad means this role also participates in all agile ceremonies driving activities from architecture and design to delivery. Models software development best practices and leads communities of practice to continuously refine and document standards and best practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement new features while improving quality of technical products and applications
  • Create and execute long term vision of technical products and applications
  • Act as a technical expert and developer on an agile squad
  • Drive the architecture of solutions across multiple services and applications
  • Develop software meeting code quality standards and metrics
  • Practice test-driven development
  • Guide communities of practice by mentoring developers, creating and enforcing standards, reviewing others code, and sharing knowledge
  • Achieve operational excellence by automating processes and writing maintainable, supportable, and testable code
  • Maintain effective partnerships with operations and engineering teams to drive service improvement
  • Remain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practice
  • Assist with problem resolution for end users and customers
  • Create and update operations procedures for daily routine management processes
  • Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements
  • Participate in 24x7 oncall rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable with 8+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of TSO and Mainframe technology
  • Experience with COBOL, CICS, SAS and MQ
  • Experience with AmTrust accounting system. 
  • Background in Wealth and Asset Management .
  • Knowledge of functional software design
  • Knowledge of software development best practices
  • Prior experience with knowledge of Git and GitHub
  • Understanding of Software Development Methodologies
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
