About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications for our client. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Java and modern backend technologies, a strong command of system architecture, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while driving technical excellence in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Java applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices architectures.

• Technical Leadership: Lead technical design discussions, contribute to architectural decision-making, and enforce clean, maintainable, and secure coding practices.

• Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning.

• System Optimization: Optimize backend performance, scalability, and reliability while troubleshooting complex issues across development and production environments.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders within an Agile/Scrum framework.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years of professional software development experience.

• Core Tech: Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17 or later) alongside deep hands-on experience with Spring Framework & Spring Boot.

• Design & Principles: Solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and SOLID principles.

• Data & APIs: Proven experience designing/developing RESTful APIs and working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL).

• Tools & Workflow: Hands-on experience with Git, modern CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building microservices-based, high-availability enterprise applications.

• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).

• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with event streaming/messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra).

• Understanding of modern application security protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT).
