Product Owner Sanctions Screening Payment Enablement Platform

We are seeking a product owner to lead our Sanctions Screening Payment enablement platform, delivering regulatory-compliant, high-performing capabilities for detection and investigation. You will own the roadmap metrics and stakeholder alignment, working cross-functionally to improve quality, reduce handling time, and maintain audit-ready controls. Ideal candidates have product experience in a regulated environment and a strong grasp of screening workflows and data.

Role Summary

• Own the vision roadmap and delivery of the sanctions screening product used to detect manager and report potential sanctions exposure across transactions clients and reference data
• Partner with compliance operations technology and risk to ensure the product meets regulatory expectations and operational SLAS while continuously improving accuracy speed and user experience
• Drive measurable outcomes: reduction in false positives, improved match resolution time high system availability and audit-ready controls

Key Responsibilities

• Product vision and Roadmap
• define and maintain the product vision aligned to regulatory requirements and business goals
• create and manage an outcome-focused roadmap, prioritizing features using data and risk-weighted value
• Backlog management and delivery
• translate business and compliance needs into clear epics, user stories and acceptance criteria
• maintain a prioritized backlog, balance feature delivery, tech debt, model tuning and control enhancements
• lead sprint planning backlog refinement and release coordination with engineering
• Compliance Risk and controls
• partner with compliance financial crimes to reflect sanctions policy updates in product design
• ensure controls for auditability, evidence capture, traceability and model governance are built-in
• Coordinate change management, UAT and production validation with appropriate approvals

Required Qualifications

• 5 years in product management or product owner role in regulated financial services or fintech
• Experience with sanctions screening domains eg Watchlist screening for payments clients or trade
• Strong grasp of agile delivery, Scrum, and backlog management practices
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and decision-making skills

Preferred Desired experience

• Exposure to sanctions lists and regulatory regimes, e.g., OFAC UK EUUN and typical list structures
• Hands-on experience with screening solutions or components e.g. fuzzy matching, phonetic linguistic normalization, name alias resolution, lifecycle management
• Understanding of workflows case management disposition and escalation paths
• Experience with enterprise-grade observability and operational tooling logs, metrics dashboards
• Background in risk and control frameworks, audit processes and evidence management
