Job Title: Product Owner AI-Enabled Operations & Controls Platform

Location: New York, NY (Full-Time)

Job Summary

Our client, a leading global alternative investment management firm, is looking for an experienced Product Owner with strong expertise in Back Office Operations, Fund Accounting, Reconciliation, Treasury, and AI-driven process transformation.

This is not a traditional Product Owner role. The client needs someone who understands investment operations and has successfully implemented AI/ML, Intelligent Automation, NLP, or Generative AI solutions to modernize financial operations.

The ideal candidate will own the product roadmap, drive AI-enabled transformation initiatives, collaborate with business and technology teams, and lead product delivery from discovery through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and long-term strategy.
• Lead product discovery sessions with business stakeholders.
• Gather and document business requirements.
• Translate requirements into Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Prioritize product backlog based on business value.
• Work closely with Engineering, Data Science, Architecture, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Drive AI-powered automation initiatives across finance operations.
• Improve reconciliation, fund accounting, operational controls, exception management, and workflow automation.
• Plan releases, manage milestones, budgets, dependencies, and risks.
• Ensure solutions meet governance, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate product updates and roadmap to executive leadership.
• Champion Agile best practices and product ownership.
• Utilize AI tools responsibly for documentation, analysis, planning, and productivity.

Required Skills

Experience

• 7+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, or Senior Business Analyst experience
• Financial Services background is mandatory
• Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Private Equity, Investment Management, or Fund Administration experience
• Strong Back Office Operations knowledge
• Fund Accounting experience
• Reconciliation Platforms
• NAV Process
• General Ledger (GL)
• Treasury Operations
• Operational Controls
• Investment Operations

AI & Automation

Must have hands-on experience leading AI transformation projects involving:
