Job Description

Technical Learning Program Architect
Location: Raleigh, NC 27606
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site
Duration: 6 Months, with potential extension based on performance and business needs
Role Overview
Develop the architecture and implementation roadmap for a training and development program supporting onboarding, early-career development, new employee development, and management development across technical operating units. Leverage existing competency models and technical training content; creation of new technical training content is out of scope.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define the Training & Development Program (TDP) lifecycle from onboarding through retirement.
  • Inventory existing training materials, technical documentation, job aids, tools, and knowledge assets.
  • Conduct gap, needs, duplication, accessibility, and risk analysis and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate sessions with technical SMEs, leaders, HR, and Learning & Development teams to gather requirements.
  • Design learning architectures, role-based curricula, onboarding pathways, proficiency milestones, assessments, and delivery methods.
  • Ensure learning architecture meets applicable ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Establish content standards, templates, repository structure, ownership, version control, review cycles, and governance.
  • Pilot priority learning pathways, collect feedback, and refine the program.
  • Use approved AI tools responsibly for content discovery, classification, gap analysis, curriculum mapping, drafting, and quality review, with SME validation.
  • Transfer methodology, tools, and governance processes to internal owners.
Key Deliverables
  • TDP lifecycle and current-state content inventory.
  • Training and capability gap analysis.
  • Learning roadmaps for new employees, early-career employees, managers, and high-potential/future-leader groups.
  • Role-based curriculum and learning pathway maps.
  • Phased implementation roadmap with priorities, dependencies, owners, and success measures.
  • Pilot-ready learning pathway.
  • Content standards, SME templates, repository structure, and governance model.
  • Knowledge-transfer and handoff package.
Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in learning architecture, curriculum strategy, instructional design, technical enablement, or corporate learning.
  • Experience building structured learning programs, academies, onboarding curricula, or technical learning ecosystems.
  • Strong experience with needs analysis, content inventory, curriculum mapping, learning-path design, assessment strategy, and program evaluation.
  • Experience working with SMEs and translating complex technical knowledge into practical learning experiences.
  • Ability to lead discovery, design, stakeholder reviews, pilots, and implementation planning.
  • Knowledge of adult learning, blended learning, accessibility, inclusive design, and content governance.
  • Proficiency with modern learning, authoring, collaboration, content-management, and learning-platform tools.
  • Experience using Generative AI in learning/training environments with appropriate validation and responsible-use practices.
  • Excellent consulting, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Bachelor s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, energy, technology, or other technical workforces.
  • Experience designing learning programs for employees and third-party workers with different access or compliance requirements.
  • Portfolio demonstrating learning architecture, curriculum maps, onboarding programs, or academy design.
