Cybersecurity Strategy Analyst
Location: Washington, Virginia (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic cyber professional to join a cybersecurity strategy team focused on cyber policy positioning and program acquisition. This role provides critical cyber guidance, bolstering the team's technical knowledge. The position involves briefing and strategic posturing rather than hands-on technical work, requiring a strong foundational understanding of cybersecurity and exceptional communication skills to translate complex concepts for program positioning and acquisition.
Key Responsibilities

• Analyze cybersecurity strategies, policies, architectures, and programs to support mission objectives.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing cyber guidance to the program acquisition team.
• Assess a program's cybersecurity posture, leveraging a strong understanding of the RMF cyber framework.
• Develop and present cybersecurity strategies, policy documents, technical assessments, and executive briefings.
• Interpret and apply cybersecurity policies, directives, and frameworks to ensure compliance.
• Assess cybersecurity architectures and system designs to identify risks and gaps.
• Provide strategic recommendations on cybersecurity governance, risk management, and system security engineering.
• Coordinate with government agencies, program offices, and engineering teams to address cybersecurity challenges.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:

• Master's degree and 12 years of relevant experience; OR
• Bachelor's degree and 14 years of relevant experience; OR
• Associate's degree and 16 years of relevant experience; OR
• 18+ years of relevant experience with no degree.

Experience:

• Progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity policy, Risk Management Framework (RMF), systems security engineering, or enterprise cybersecurity strategy.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or comparable federal mission environments.
• Strong understanding of RMF, cyber governance, and enterprise risk management practices.
• Experience evaluating cybersecurity architectures, security controls, and technical documentation.
• Proven ability to identify cybersecurity gaps, vulnerabilities, and weaknesses.

Skills:

• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on polish and professionalism.
• Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to provide independent analysis and develop actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Program protection experience.
• Experience with the DoD acquisition lifecycle and policy.
• Knowledge of Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) and enterprise security operations.
• Familiarity with Program Protection Planning (PPP) and Systems Security Engineering (SSE).
• Experience with cybersecurity architecture design, assessment, and evaluation.
• Background in enterprise cybersecurity governance, compliance, and strategic planning.
• Experience supporting executive-level decision-making.
