Job Summary

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual testing solutions for high-quality software applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, programming or scripting, API testing, web application testing, and software quality assurance processes.

The candidate will collaborate with software engineers, QA engineers, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify defects, improve test coverage, and ensure reliable and high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and backend applications.
  • Develop and maintain scalable and reusable automation test frameworks.
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
  • Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar technologies.
  • Identify, document, track, and validate software defects using defect management tools.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and deployment.
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure application compatibility.
  • Validate application functionality, performance, reliability, and usability against defined requirements.
  • Develop test data and maintain test environments required for automation and functional testing.
  • Participate in requirements reviews, test planning, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams to improve application quality and test coverage.
  • Maintain automation scripts, testing documentation, and quality metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, and overall QA efficiency.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow established software development and QA methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance, QA Automation, Test Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
  • Basic to strong understanding of SQL and database testing.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub or other version control systems.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
  • Experience developing automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM) or similar design patterns.
  • Knowledge of TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, Cucumber, or similar testing frameworks.
  • Experience with REST API, SOAP API, and microservices testing.
  • Experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized testing environments.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of BDD, TDD, and shift-left testing practices.
  • Experience with mobile application testing using Appium or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
  • Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data validation techniques.
  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or qTest.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted testing, Generative AI, or intelligent test automation tools.
  • Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or other enterprise domains.
