Job Description

Role: Oracle WMS Functional Consultant
Location: Chicago, IL
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Oracle WMS Functional Consultant with strong expertise in warehouse management, inventory, order fulfillment, and supply chain business processes. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, warehouse operations teams, and technical teams to design, configure, implement, and support Oracle Warehouse Management solutions.
Key Responsibilities Lead functional design, configuration, implementation, and support of Oracle WMS solutions. Gather and analyze business requirements related to warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and fulfillment processes. Configure Oracle WMS functionality based on business and operational requirements. Support integrations between Oracle WMS and modules such as Inventory, Order Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Transportation Management. Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend scalable Oracle-based solutions. Develop functional specifications for extensions, interfaces, reports, conversions, and customizations. Work with technical teams on APIs, integrations, data migration, and system enhancements. Configure and support warehouse processes including:Receiving and put-awayInventory transfersCycle counting and physical inventoryPicking and replenishmentPacking and shippingWave planningTask managementLot and serial number trackingWarehouse rules and strategies Support end-to-end testing including SIT, UAT, regression testing, and production validation. Troubleshoot functional issues and perform root-cause analysis. Prepare process documentation, configuration documents, test scripts, and user training materials. Support cutover, go-live, stabilization, and post-production activities. Collaborate with business, operations, development, integration, and infrastructure teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with Oracle Supply Chain / Warehouse Management applications.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle WMS Functional Consultant.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution business processes.
  • Experience with Oracle WMS configuration and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Inventory, Order Management, Shipping, Purchasing, and related SCM modules.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into functional solutions.
  • Experience preparing functional design documents and working with Oracle technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse transactions, inventory controls, fulfillment, and logistics processes.
  • Experience with SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live, and production support.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud WMS, Oracle WMS Cloud, or Oracle E-Business Suite WMS.
  • Experience with RF/mobile warehouse transactions, barcode scanners, label printing, and warehouse automation.
  • Knowledge of integrations with ERP, TMS, 3PL, shipping carriers, and material-handling systems.
  • Experience with high-volume distribution or manufacturing environments.
  • Oracle SCM/WMS certification is a plus.
