The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders) to load and unload shipping containers.
• Drive hostlers to reposition containers and chassis within the intermodal yard.
• Ensure accurate and safe handling of containers, contributing to efficient logistics operations.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to maintain safety standards.
• Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and container moves.
• Adhere to established safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing.
• Willingness to work flexible, including night shifts, dependent on union seniority.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
