Cybersecurity Consultant

Location: Onsite at 2 Broadway, NY, 10004 - Locals Preffered 

Duration: 18+ Months

The Cybersecurity Consultant role is a critical position within the team, providing specialized security expertise to support various teams and leadership. This role focuses on strengthening cybersecurity measures and ensuring the security of applications across the organization. The consultant will be responsible for conducting assessments, reviewing secure architectures, optimizing tools, and implementing operational governance to enhance overall cybersecurity.

The consultant will also play a key role in configuring, tuning, and monitoring security protections on Akamai and Cloudflare WAF platforms to ensure consistent security coverage for cloud-hosted and externally facing applications. Additionally, the consultant will be involved in technical assessments, providing guidance to development teams, and establishing processes, metrics, and governance practices.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise and support in software security, Akamai, Amazon Web Services, Burp Suite, and other cybersecurity tools
• Conduct assessments and reviews to identify and address security vulnerabilities
• Optimize tools and processes to enhance cybersecurity measures
• Configure, tune, and monitor security protections on Akamai and Cloudflare WAF platforms
• Collaborate with development teams to implement secure coding practices
• Integrate security telemetry from various sources to build dashboards and metrics

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Experience with software security principles and practices
• Proficiency in Akamai and Amazon Web Services
• Knowledge of Burp Suite, Cloud Computing, and Cyber Security
• Understanding of DNS, HTTP, and firewall technologies
• Experience with OWASP, SaaS, SIEM, and other cybersecurity tools
• Experience with Fortify, WAF technologies, and DDoS mitigation
• Familiarity with Akamai WAF, SAST, DAST, and SOAR
• Ability to analyze HTTP traffic and identify potential security threats
• Experience in building dashboards and metrics for security monitoring
