Position: Java developer

Location: Charlotte, NC (3 days hybrid)

Duration: 12+ Months contract

What you are good at.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end services and APIs for risk and finance applications
• Build responsive front-end applications in Angular
• Contribute to solution design and architecture decisions; review code and mentor mid-level developers
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities (e.g., LLM APIs, model outputs, intelligent automation) into existing applications
• Work with large data sets from trading, positions, and risk systems; optimize performance and reliability
• Partner with product owners and business stakeholders in an Agile environment
• Follow SDLC, security, and regulatory controls standard in a financial institution
Required
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong Java (Java 11+/17, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs)
• Strong Angular (Angular 12+, TypeScript, RxJS)
• Hands-on exposure to AI in an application context (consuming LLM or ML APIs, building AI-enabled features, prompt engineering, or working with data science teams)
• SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres)
• CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle)
• Excellent communication skills with technical and business audiences
