Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid)

Description

Role: UX/UI Designer

Workstream: Vehicles/Parts & Accessories

About the team and the role:

  • We’re reinventing how people shop for vehicles and keep them on the road on Client. Join a team working across some of Client’s biggest and most strategically important spaces, including an ambitious zero-to-one Vehicles experience and a massive Parts & Accessories business that powers everything from routine maintenance to hard-to-find and salvaged parts.
  • We’re transforming vehicle purchases beyond classifieds to support financing, insurance, DMV paperwork, delivery, and more. At the same time, we’re creating experiences that help buyers confidently find the right parts, understand availability and pricing, and navigate an evolving cross-border marketplace.
  • You’ll work with some of the best in the industry to design and build relevant, human, and magical shopping experiences. We’re looking for individuals who thrive on the cutting edge in a high-performing, collaborative environment and who are committed to delivering the best possible experience for our customers.
  • This role focuses on hands-on design work, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to improve the end-to-end shopping journey. You'll balance creativity and usability, build strong partnerships across disciplines, and create innovative, intuitive solutions through product discovery and design thinking.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of end-to-end vehicle and parts shopping experiences — from discovery through polished UI — balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities across web and native platforms.
  • Apply advanced mastery of Figma and prototyping tools to craft detailed interaction flows, component-level systems, and high-fidelity designs that drive quality and consistency.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and content peers to explore opportunities, refine hypotheses, and deliver solutions that connect strategy to execution.
  • Present and articulate design rationale through clear storytelling, connecting design decisions to measurable outcomes and product vision.
  • Navigate design across surfaces owned by other teams — building alignment with platform, horizontal, and cross-functional partners while advocating for the needs of vehicles and parts customers.

Requirement:

Required Skills:

  • 8–10 years of professional product design experience.
  • Advanced mastery of Figma and prototyping tools, with a portfolio demonstrating impactful contributions across native and web platforms.
  • Fluency with AI-powered design tools and workflows, with the ability to use them to accelerate exploration, iteration, and delivery without sacrificing craft or intentionality.
  • Ability to contribute to content design and UX research when the work calls for it, including writing UX copy, supporting research studies, or translating insights into design direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate inputs from and drive alignment across cross-functional partners — product, engineering, content, research, and design — including influencing decisions on shared surfaces and knowing when to work within an existing design system versus advocating for exceptions that serve the customer.
  • Inclusive, team-oriented mindset, open to feedback and dedicated to continuous personal development.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in ecommerce and/or vehicles; Bachelor's or master's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or equivalent experience.
