Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer (L2) to support a large-scale application rewrite initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, API automation, SQL/database validation, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and execute REST API automation tests.
• Validate backend data using SQL and database testing.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to define test strategies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Maintain automation code using Git and established branching strategies.
• Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams on resolution.
• Contribute to automation framework enhancements, coding standards, and QA best practices.
• Explore and leverage AI-powered testing capabilities to improve automation efficiency and test coverage.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on QA automation experience.
• Strong Playwright experience Mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience designing reusable and scalable automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of automation design patterns and best practices.
• Strong experience with REST API testing/automation.
• Knowledge of JSON, HTTP methods, authentication, and API validation.
• Strong SQL skills with experience validating backend data across relational databases.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries for data verification.
• Strong knowledge of Git.
• Understanding of Feature Branching, GitFlow, Pull Requests, Merge Conflict Resolution, and Release Branching.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.

AI Skills Preferred

• Exposure to AI-assisted software testing and automation.
• Experience using AI tools to generate test cases, optimize automation scripts, or improve testing productivity.
• Familiarity with AI-powered QA platforms or LLMs is an added advantage.

Important: Candidates must be strong in Playwright automation and be comfortable with the final in-person interview requirement in Holmdel, NJ.
