This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on individual with experience in property maintenance, building repairs or health and safety compliance to join a team dedicated to maintaining safe and well-managed residential properties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of compliance inspections, routine testing and minor remedial works across residential properties, communal areas and community facilities, ensuring all work is completed safely and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Testing fire alarms and emergency lighting across residential blocks and communal facilities.

  • Inspecting communal fire doors, identifying defects and carrying out basic remedial works where appropriate.

  • Completing water temperature checks, flushing and descaling.

  • Undertaking Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).

  • Carrying out playground inspections and checking or installing health and safety signage.

  • Completing wider health, safety and compliance inspections.

  • Providing on-site support to colleagues and contractors when required.

  • Maintaining accurate compliance records, producing reports and following up on any identified actions.

  • Delivering a professional and customer-focused service to residents and colleagues.

What We're Looking For

  • A Level 3 Award, or equivalent, in Fire Door Inspection. Training support may be available for candidates who do not currently hold this qualification.

  • A completed PAT testing course. Training support may also be available.

  • Previous experience in basic building repairs, including carpentry and general property maintenance.

  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to safely use step ladders and handle tools, materials and equipment.

  • A proactive approach, good attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Previous experience in a similar role or knowledge of building compliance within social housing or property maintenance would be advantageous.
