Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

The Role and the Department

The FP&A Manager sits within the Financial Planning & Analysis team and reports to the Senior FP&A Manager. The FP&A team is responsible for delivering high-quality financial planning, forecasting and budgeting, alongside the development of financial data, performance analytics and reporting tools that enable effective decision-making across the University.

The FP&A Manager works closely with colleagues across Strategic Finance and the wider Finance service to provide robust financial insight, performance analysis and management information. The role plays a key part in the development and enhancement of performance analytics, financial modelling and data visualisation, ensuring decision-makers have access to timely, accurate and actionable information.

The postholder is responsible for identifying and communicating key trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers, translating complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. The role also contributes to the University's annual budgeting, forecasting and planning processes through the provision of robust analytics and scenario modelling.

The base location for this role is Boldon House, our exciting new professional services hub.Boldon House is situated on the outskirts of Durham near the Arnison Centre in Pity Me. Boldon House brings a number of professional services teams together in a vibrant office environment which supports collaborative working and is designed to embrace hybrid working.
