  • Implement cloud security best practices, governance standards, and access controls.
  • Evaluate and adopt new AWS services and technologies to improve platform capabilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for AWS best practices across the engineering organisation.

Key Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years' experience as an AWS Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, or similar role.
  • Deep expertise across AWS services including EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, DynamoDB, and related technologies.
  • Strong experience designing and supporting highly available, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven experience building solutions in AWS for data-intensive, research, financial services, or high-performance computing environments.
  • Strong Kubernetes and containerisation experience (EKS, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, encryption, and access management.
  • Experience implementing monitoring, observability, and cloud optimisation strategies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities within complex production environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with developers, researchers, and data scientists.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer are advantageous.
