Work with application development, infrastructure, networking, security, architecture, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
Evaluate middleware solutions for security, reliability, scalability, resiliency, and production readiness.
Support vulnerability remediation, security hardening, platform patching, and technology-risk reduction.
Assist with the lifecycle management of legacy or end-of-life platforms, including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
Participate in disaster-recovery planning, testing, capacity planning, and platform-resiliency efforts.
Follow established incident, problem, change, release, and configuration-management procedures.
Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, support procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
Provide technical guidance and escalation support to junior engineers and operations personnel.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administration, monitoring, deployment, and support activities.
Assist with audit, risk, security, and regulatory requirements within a controlled enterprise environment.
Participate in scheduled maintenance, production deployments, or an on-call rotation when required.
Required Qualifications
Five or more years of experience in middleware engineering, platform engineering, systems administration, application support, infrastructure engineering, or a related area.
Hands-on experience supporting enterprise middleware, messaging, web-server, or application-server technologies.
Experience with one or more platforms such as IBM MQ, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, NGINX, ActiveMQ, Microsoft IIS, .NET middleware, or Azure Service Bus.
Experience supporting production systems through incident triage, troubleshooting, service restoration, and root-cause analysis.
Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, load balancing, ports, firewalls, proxies, and secure system connectivity.
Familiarity with SSL/TLS certificates, keystores, certificate chains, and secure communications.
Experience performing software installations, configurations, patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation.
Experience working within formal incident, change, release, and problem-management processes.
Ability to analyze logs, alerts, performance information, and system dependencies to isolate technical problems.
Strong documentation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate effectively with application, infrastructure, network, security, architecture, and operations teams.
Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday in Phoenix, Columbus, or Dallas.
