Description
We are looking for a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Dallas, Texas on a Contract basis. This position focuses on preparing end-user equipment, resolving technical issues before devices are issued, and supporting a smooth onboarding experience for new employees. The ideal candidate brings hands-on desktop support experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage device setup, software deployment, and shipment coordination in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and provision new laptop computers in alignment with established company configuration standards before employee delivery.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems to ensure devices are fully operational prior to deployment.
Deploy, update, and manage business applications through Intune while maintaining compliance with Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft Entra ID policies.
Coordinate outbound shipment of equipment to new hires and monitor delivery timelines to support timely onboarding.
Maintain accurate documentation for assigned devices, inventory status, and shipping activity.
Track requests, document progress, and close support activities through a ticketing platform such as ServiceNow or a comparable system.
Provide day-to-day assistance related to shipping tools and carrier platforms, including FedEx shipping software.
Communicate with internal stakeholders to align device readiness, shipment scheduling, and onboarding support needs.
Requirements
A+ certification is required for this role.
At least 3 years of experience in desktop support, device provisioning, or a closely related technical support environment.
Working knowledge of Intune, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
Experience using shipping software and coordinating equipment distribution logistics.
Familiarity with ticket management systems used to log, track, and resolve technical work.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep accurate records and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work onsite five days per week in Dallas, Texas.
Must be comfortable covering parking expenses associated with onsite work.
