MLOps Engineer

Job Title: MLOps Engineer
Duration: 6 Months Contract-to-Hire
Work Mode: Fully Remote

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced MLOps Engineer to support production machine learning models powering a large-scale retail search platform. This role focuses on production model serving, automated ML pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate has hands-on production ML experience, strong Python skills, and cloud ML platform expertise, preferably Google Cloud Platform Vertex AI.

Key Responsibilities
Deploy, maintain, and optimize production ML models.
Build automated model training, refresh, and deployment pipelines.
Implement ML CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and drift detection.
Optimize inference latency, scalability, and system performance.
Collaborate with Data Science teams on production ML solutions.
Leverage AI agents such as Claude or Gemini for pipeline development, testing, and automation.

Key Required Qualifications
Hands-on production ML model serving and deployment experience.
Strong Python programming skills.
Experience with MLOps, automated pipelines, and model CI/CD.
Hands-on cloud ML platform experience; Vertex AI preferred.
Experience with production model monitoring and optimization.
Experience using AI agents for development and automation.

Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud Platform: Vertex AI, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow.
Kubernetes or Triton Inference Server.
LLM/SLM serving or fine-tuning experience.
Search, ranking, semantic search, or recommendation systems.
Java experience or willingness to learn using AI tools.

Note: Candidates must have actual production ML model deployment and serving experience. Training-only or personal project experience will not qualify.
