Software Test Analyst

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite)

Position Overview

Seeking a Software Test Analyst with strong experience in manual and automated testing, web automation, API testing, performance testing, and QA. The role involves translating requirements and user stories into effective test cases, executing tests, managing defects, and collaborating within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated test cases, including positive, negative, boundary, regression, integration, UAT, and accessibility testing.

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop reusable test cases, plans, and strategies.

• Automate web applications using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.

• Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, APIRequestContext, or similar tools.

• Develop automation using Java, Gherkin, and Cucumber-style Step Definitions.

• Perform performance and load testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.

• Conduct ADA/accessibility testing using tools such as JAWS and AccVerify.

• Write SQL queries for test-data setup and validation against Oracle and SQL Server databases.

• Generate test data, reports, metrics, and environment-specific test suites for DEV, UAT, QAT, and PRE-PROD.

• Identify, document, and track defects using Azure DevOps.

• Use Git for branching, merging, and pull requests.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with developers, BAs, product teams, and other stakeholders.

• Communicate test results, risks, defects, and quality concerns effectively.

• Apply Secure Application Development Lifecycle (SADLC) practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manual and automated software testing.

• 5+ years of experience analyzing requirements and creating test cases, test plans, and strategies.

• Strong experience with API testing and web application automation.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks.

• Strong Java programming skills for test automation.

• Experience with SQL, including SELECTs and JOINs, and database validation.

• Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.

• Strong understanding of software testing and QA methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT-related field.

• Ability to work onsite in downtown Lansing, MI, 2 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Playwright for Java and Selenium WebDriver experience.

• TestNG, Gherkin, Cucumber, Eclipse, and REST Assured experience.

• Experience with JMeter or LoadRunner, including advanced performance testing or CI/CD automation.

• Experience with ADA/accessibility testing, including JAWS and AccVerify.

• Experience testing iOS and Android mobile applications.

• Experience with financial services or government applications.

• Experience with Azure DevOps Testing Module.

• Experience building environment-specific test suites and supporting application lifecycle management.

• Experience with Postman, REST Assured, or APIRequestContext.

• Understanding of SADLC and secure software development practices.
