Job Description

The Perkins is seeking an experienced and solutions-focused Solutions Lead to drive the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of technology solutions across the Perkins. Working at the intersection of technology and business, you will lead projects, manage system implementations and upgrades, and partner with stakeholders to ensure our technology supports an innovative and effective research environment.

This position is offered on a full time permanent basis, located at our state-of the-art medical research facilities in Nedlands. The position also participates in an on-call roster, and some after-hours work may be required.

About this role

Reporting to the General Manager, Technology, the Solutions Lead is responsible for delivering technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience and business capability across the Perkins. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and turn them into effective technical solutions, while providing technical oversight across implementation, integration, testing, change and ongoing improvement.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead the delivery of technology solutions, from defining business requirements through to implementation and adoption.
  • Manage end-to-end technology projects, including planning, timelines, resources, risks, deliverables and stakeholder reporting.
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure new systems and technologies integrate effectively with existing platforms and infrastructure and meet cybersecurity requirements.
  • Manage system implementations, configurations and upgrades while minimising disruption to business operations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure solutions meet business requirements, service expectations and agreed project outcomes.
  • Lead testing, quality assurance and change management activities to support reliable solutions and successful end-user adoption.
  • Maintain accurate system configuration and change documentation across development, testing and production environments.

This role would suit someone enjoys solving complex problems, working across both technical and business environments, and taking ownership of technology solutions from idea through to implementation. You'll be comfortable engaging with a broad range of stakeholders while bringing the technical expertise needed to challenge, evaluate and deliver the right solution.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing technology system implementations and upgrades.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end projects, including planning, risk management, execution and monitoring using established project methodologies.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Entra, Dataverse and Power Platform.
  • Proficiency across relevant technologies such as SQL, cloud platforms and enterprise software systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical, efficient and sustainable technology solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with configuration management practices, upgrade planning and management of technical environments.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and associated methodologies.
  • A current Western Australian C class driver's licence and the ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Certificate
