Job Description

A leading security-first IT solutions and managed services provider is seeking a Senior IT Operations Engineer to support a high-profile professional sports organization. This full-time overnight position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical network, server, virtualization, and infrastructure environments that power both corporate operations and game-day technology. The organization has more than 30 years of success helping enterprise and mid-market clients modernize through managed services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and automation.

This is a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes for a mission-critical sports environment where downtime is not an option. The ideal candidate will bring strong infrastructure experience across networking, systems administration, monitoring, vulnerability management, and virtualization while thriving in a fast-paced overnight operations environment. You'll play a key role supporting stadium technology, wireless connectivity, network performance, and business-critical systems that directly impact the game-day experience for teams, coaches, and staff. This employer is building out its operations team and governance structure, creating an excellent opportunity for long-term growth and influence. Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of IT Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration, or Managed Services experience
  • Strong Cisco networking experience with hands-on Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting
  • Experience monitoring network circuits and coordinating with telecommunications vendors
  • Windows Server administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • WSUS administration and enterprise patch management
  • Vulnerability remediation and security patch deployment across servers and network devices
  • VMware vCenter administration for virtual machine deployment and management
  • Active Directory administration and troubleshooting
  • Enterprise infrastructure monitoring experience with SolarWinds, NinjaOne, Kaseya, or similar tools
  • Backup administration experience, preferably with Rubrik
  • Experience supporting wireless access points and enterprise Wi-Fi environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a production environment
  • Experience conducting detailed shift handoffs and operations documentation
  • Ability to work overnight schedules, weekends, and holiday coverage when required
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience
  • Palo Alto firewall administration and troubleshooting
  • CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, or similar certifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale live events, sports venues, or mission-critical operations
  • Exposure to vulnerability scanning and remediation programs
  • Experience with ITIL practices and operational governance
  • Knowledge of network performance monitoring and incident management workflows
  • Experience working in smaller IT environments where engineers wear multiple hats
  • Familiarity with change management and operational best practices

Daily Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure supporting corporate and game-day operations
  • Troubleshoot Cisco switches, circuits, wireless infrastructure, and connectivity issues
  • Coordinate with service providers to resolve network outages and performance concerns
  • Deploy and manage virtual machines using VMware vCenter
  • Perform Windows Server administration, configuration, and maintenance
  • Execute vulnerability remediation and enterprise patching activities
  • Monitor platform health and respond to alerts using SolarWinds and related tools
  • Verify backup success and assist with recovery testing when required
  • Support Active Directory administration and user-related issues
  • Communicate incidents, impacts, and resolutions to business stakeholders
  • Provide comprehensive shift transition updates to incoming operations teams
  • Assist in maintaining operational stability during multiple simultaneous sporting events

Schedule
  • Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM
  • Workdays: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
  • Holiday coverage required when games are scheduled
