Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Database Administrator 2 for a long-term hybrid contract opportunity.

Position: Database Administrator 2
Location: Richmond, VA – Hybrid
Duration: 11+ Months with possible Extension
Interview: In-Person

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Database Administrator to provide database application support, server management, database maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support. The selected candidate will collaborate with project managers, technical teams, internal users, and external stakeholders to gather project requirements and support enterprise applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Progressive experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Strong T-SQL programming and database administration skills.
  • Experience maintaining and updating code developed by other developers.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot, investigate, mitigate, and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems, technologies, and procedures.
  • Experience providing end-user technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software, hardware, and peripheral installation, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Development experience with .NET Framework 4.8+, .NET Standard, and Visual Basic.
  • Experience with ASP.NET (VB/C#), ASP, HTML/HTML5, jQuery, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and JSON.
  • Ability to translate formal requirements into database and application modules.
  • Experience with server and system administration, including performance, security, and reliability.
  • Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining code written by other developers.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and DAX.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or government IT environments is a plus.
