Head of Technical Architecture (Digital AI Products) AWS
ASAP - 6 Month Contract | £875-900 per day | SC Clearance Required | London/Hybrid (Manchester or Bristol also considered)

We are urgently seeking a Head of Technical Architecture to lead the technical vision, strategy and delivery of large-scale, user-centric digital AI products for a high-profile public sector programme. This is not an Enterprise Architect position.

We are looking for a highly technical leader with a background in Solutions Architecture, Technical Architecture, Engineering Leadership, CTO, Director of Architecture or Technical Head of Engineering roles. You will define architecture strategy and lead multidisciplinary teams to design, build and launch digital AI products at national scale. Candidates must be able to demonstrate ownership of major product releases and a track record of taking products from concept through to production.

Essential Experience
Leading architecture strategy for customer-facing digital products, applications or websites
Hands-on experience delivering AI-enabled products from design to launch
AWS cloud architecture (essential)
AWS Serverless technologies
AWS Bedrock
End-to-end architecture covering application, infrastructure and networking layers
DevOps, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
Test Driven Development (TDD)
Cloud security architecture
Experience leading and mentoring architects and engineering teams
Ownership of multiple large-scale product releases
Experience operating within complex, regulated environments
Desirable Experience
Secure by Design principles
Knowledge of NCSC guidance and standards
Cyber security assessment frameworks
Government Digital Service (GDS) environments and user-centred design approaches
Security Requirements
Due to the urgency of this requirement, active SC Clearance is preferred but not essential
