Job Description

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Project or Design) on behalf of an established Civil and M&amp;E main contractor to play a key role in delivering multi-million £ Yorkshire Water projects... This £500m+ turnover main contractor are a well-known name with worldwide growth. They are a key delivery partner for Yorkshire Water and framework holders for a number of Water clients nationwide for past several AMP frameworks. Off the back of a very successful AMP7 (2020 to 2025) they have secured AMP8 (running to 2030) and have several hundred million £'s worth of work potentially coming to them. This Mechanical Engineer will be involved with full project life cycles ranging from concept design, tender, detailed design, construction, commissioning and to final handover. The role will involve design and delivery of mechanical systems within the Water / Wastewater industry. Projects: water treatment upgrades, storm tanks, combined sewer overflows etc.<br />Values: from £500k to £10m

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in variety of projects at differing stages
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for each project
  • Prepare hydraulic calculations for pumped and gravity systems
  • Participate in ALM / HAZOP Workshops
  • Review internal documentation
  • Support project teams
  • Select equipment and lead discussions with suppliers
  • Produce equipment schedules
  • Work with design team to prepare detailed design models / drawings

Requirements:

  • Must have Mechanical Engineering experience from project delivery or design (ideally an aspect of both) within Water / Wastewaster sectors
  • Must have experience working for a contractor or consultancy
