Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong expertise in IT process improvement, policy/procedure development, compliance, business process modeling, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
The consultant will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT policies, procedures, internal controls, and audit processes. The role will work closely with executive-level stakeholders to identify business risks, improve processes, develop SOPs, and implement effective controls.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, revise, and implement IT policies, procedures, internal controls, and SOPs.
  • Perform business process modeling, process mapping, and process management using MS Visio.
  • Identify process gaps, business risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Apply Lean methodologies including waste elimination, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), flow, and error proofing.
  • Lead Kaizen events, Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, and process improvement teams.
  • Collaborate with executive offices and stakeholders across different organizational levels.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and key business requirements.
  • Prepare concise and insightful reports, presentations, and management communications.
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop IT communication programs and measure their effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of Project Management experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Compliance, IT governance, or related areas.
  • 6+ years of experience in Policy and Strategy Development.
  • Strong experience in Business Process Modeling and Management.
  • Proven experience with MS Visio for process mapping.
  • Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Experience leading Kaizen / Continuous Improvement events or teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification from an accredited institution/training organization.
  • Knowledge of public mass transit assets and operations.
  • Experience working with large organizations, executive stakeholders, or public-sector environments.
