Job Description

Legal & Compliance Administrator — 16-month contract | Hybrid (3 days in office)

A rare chance to sit inside the legal team of a global science and technology business, supporting the wider group of their UK and Ireland businesses

You’d be the administrative engine behind a small, senior legal team — working alongside qualified solicitors on company secretarial and compliance work for around 35 group entities and roughly 2,500 employees.

What you’ll be doing

• Company secretarial support across ~35 Merck group companies: board meetings, papers, minutes, filings and statutory records

• Compliance administration for the Healthcare business in the UK and Ireland, including ABPI Code processes and approvals

• Data privacy support and record keeping

• Contract management and document lifecycle management end to end

• Audit preparation and evidence gathering

• Owning and improving the systems, technology and processes the team runs on

What we’re looking for

• Genuinely exceptional attention to detail — this role lives or dies on accuracy

• Strong administrative experience in a legal, compliance or company secretarial environment

• Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and board-level meetings

• Systems-minded: someone who spots a clunky process and fixes it

• Pharma or regulated-industry exposure (ABPI, data privacy) is a real advantage

The details

• 16-month fixed-term contract

• 3 days per week in the office

• Reporting into the legal team

A brilliant opportunity if you want proper exposure to in-house legal work at scale, with the structure and support of an established team.
