Maxwood Furniture is a rapidly growing furniture company with an expanding portfolio of brands such as Max & Lily, Plank + Beam, and Maxtrix. Since launching over two decades ago, we have established multiple sales channels including our DTC websites and third-party marketplaces. We’re passionate about creating an inspiring and engaging shopping experience for our customers, bringing their home decor dreams to life with stunning, on-trend pieces.

We are seeking a new member to add to our Team. Are you ready to be a part of something amazing?

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable, helpful, and resourceful Office & Events Assistant (Part-Time) to provide hands-on support with day-to-day office, kitchen, and team needs.

This is a flexible support role focused on helping keep our office organized, welcoming, and running smoothly. You’ll assist with everything from stocking and organizing the kitchen to helping prepare our weekly office lunch, supporting team events and celebrations, and pitching in on small projects around the office.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys being helpful, likes variety, and is happy jumping in wherever an extra set of hands is needed. You’re dependable, organized, and take pride in noticing the little things that help make an office a great place to work.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain an organized, stocked, and welcoming office and kitchen environment

  • Put away and organize grocery and office supply deliveries and help monitor items that need to be restocked

  • Assist with kitchen cleanup, organization, coffee, snacks, and other day-to-day needs

  • Help prepare, set up, and clean up our weekly Wednesday office lunch

  • Assist with team events, celebrations, and office gatherings, including setup, décor, food, supplies, and cleanup

  • Support hands-on creative projects such as décor, signage, gift assembly, and themed office displays

  • Help with miscellaneous office organization and small projects as needed

  • Assist with charitable donations, including organizing items and coordinating occasional pickups or drop-offs

  • Handle occasional errands such as supply runs, pickups, and drop-offs

  • Provide light administrative support, research, or spreadsheet updates as needed

  • Pitch in across the office wherever an extra set of hands is helpful

Requirements

  • Prior office, administrative, hospitality, retail, or similar experience is helpful but not required

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once given direction

  • Organized and detail-oriented with a willingness to help with a variety of tasks

  • Comfortable with hands-on responsibilities including organizing, stocking, setup, and cleanup

  • Positive, friendly, and professional

  • Able to take initiative and notice when something needs attention

  • Reliable transportation for occasional errands and off-site tasks

  • Basic comfort with email, spreadsheets, and online tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting an office, team, events, hospitality, or similar environment

  • Creative mindset with an eye for detail and presentation

  • Comfortable working in a flexible role where responsibilities may vary from day to day

Schedule & Work Location

  • Part-time: approximately 15–20 hours per week maximum

  • Typically a few hours per day, with Monday, Wednesday, and Friday preferred

  • Wednesday availability is especially important to assist with our weekly office lunch

  • Some flexibility may occasionally be needed to support team events or special projects

  • On-site role based in Daniel Island, SC

Additional Information

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in organization, and prefers a hands-on, supportive role over a purely desk-based position.
