We are seeking an experienced Debug Technician to support manufacturing operations by performing advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical and electrical assemblies. This role focuses on component-level PCB debugging, diagnosing hardware failures in server and data center systems, validating repairs, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
Key Skills
- Perform advanced board-level troubleshooting and component-level debugging of complex multi-layer PCBAs, including CPU, GPU, FPGA, ASIC, memory, power, and mixed-signal subsystems.
- Diagnose hardware failures using schematics, PCB layout files, POST codes, BMC logs, boundary scan, diagnostic software, and other debug tools.
- Utilize electronic test equipment including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and automated test platforms to isolate and verify defects.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical assemblies to the component level while supporting manufacturing, validation, and continuous process improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience performing component-level PCB debugging and repair within enterprise server, storage, networking, electronics manufacturing, or data center hardware environments.
- Strong understanding of server power architecture, VRMs, power sequencing, PCIe interfaces, BGA devices, high-speed interconnects, and signal integrity fundamentals.
- Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using complex electrical schematics and PCB layout files.
- Hands-on experience operating oscilloscopes and other advanced electronic diagnostic and test equipment.
- Experience supporting equipment installation, debugging, validation, and manufacturing production activities.
Additional Skills
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance to engineering, production, and other debug technicians.
- Develop, maintain, and improve PCB debugging guides, work instructions, batch records, equipment logs, material specifications, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Train production and service assemblers on PCBA troubleshooting techniques and debugging procedures.
- Monitor repair yields, equipment cycle rates, and support engineering with functionality investigations, process improvements, equipment validation, and procedure updates while maintaining compliance with all safety requirements.
