Direct Counsel is working with a top-tier, client-centric law firm to identify a
Finance Associate Attorney to join its
Finance & Transactions practice in
Chicago, New York, or Dallas
. This role is ideal for attorneys who are energized by complex deal work and ready to deepen their practice within a sophisticated, team-oriented platform that prioritizes mentorship, business development, and client exposure.

About the Role
In this position, you will play a central role in structuring, negotiating, and managing a range of commercial finance transactions. The team supports a diverse client base—including financial institutions, lenders, and borrowers—on deals that demand precision, foresight, and efficient execution. Draft and negotiate loan documents for secured and unsecured lending transactions.

This is not just a back-office drafting role—this is a position that allows a motivated associate to build long-term relationships with clients and become a trusted advisor.
4–6 years of commercial finance experience at a law firm, including experience managing transactions from term sheet to closing.
~ A demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate loan documents
(including credit agreements, security agreements, and ancillary documentation).
~ Strong organizational and project management skills with a track record of balancing competing priorities.
