The Opportunity

ATA Recruitment are working with a leading organisation to recruit a Senior Project Manager to take ownership of a major distribution and logistics transformation programme.

This is a key project role within a complex, high-volume Distribution Centre environment, focused on the DC transformation projects to create a more efficient, flexible and sustainable operation.

You'll be responsible for turning the wider programme strategy into a clear, practical delivery plan — coordinating multiple workstreams across operations, logistics, engineering, systems, technology, property, finance and external contractors.

What You'll Be Doing - Senior Project Manager

• Lead the detailed operational plan for the for a number of exiting projects in a Distribution Centre
• Coordinate the safe and controlled transition of operational activity
• Develop project milestones, critical paths, dependencies, readiness criteria and contingency plans
• Lead the development of a future operating model for the remaining Distribution Centre
• Review and improve operational processes, capacity, productivity and ways of working
• Coordinate layout and operational flow changes
• Build and maintain an integrated project delivery plan across multiple workstreams
• Manage RAID logs, project governance, reporting and key decision points
• Coordinate requirements around automation, infrastructure, engineering, systems and technology
• Work with technical teams to ensure solutions are practical and support the future operating model
• Manage project costs, budgets and benefits

What We're Looking For

You'll need a strong track record of delivering complex operational or transformation projects within a Distribution Centre, warehouse, logistics or supply-chain environment.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Proven end-to-end project management experience
• Experience delivering operational change within a live/BAU environment
• Strong project planning and critical-path management skills
• Experience managing multiple, interdependent workstreams
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders
• Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and benefits
• Strong understanding of Distribution Centre operations and what works in a live environment

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be particularly useful:

• Major warehouse consolidation, relocation or site-exit projects
• Warehouse automation or material-handling projects
• WMS or logistics systems transformation

The Person

We're looking for someone who is delivery-focused, organised and commercially minded, with the credibility to operate at both an operational and senior-management level.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who can move a complex project from planning through to implementation and handover, while keeping the operation running effectively throughout.
