Business Systems Analyst
Location: Remote (Eligible candidates must reside within Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, or North Dakota, and must be willing to work Central Time Zone hours.)
Role Overview
The Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in the daily support, maintenance, and enhancement of business systems, as well as the delivery of new system configurations. This position facilitates communication between technical developers and business stakeholders to identify optimal solutions and meet critical project deadlines. Operating within a collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will analyze business requirements, support system testing, and help implement continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities

• Participate in functional system design and system configuration activities.
• Develop comprehensive functional documentation for projects and system enhancements.
• Review and evaluate high-level data flows, functional specifications, and database schemas.
• Configure and build systems to meet defined business requirements throughout the development life cycle.
• Write and execute ad-hoc reports and SQL scripts to support data migration and system updates.
• Document system test expectations and perform detailed regression testing of fixes and upgrades.
• Conduct unit testing of configuration and coordinate testing activities with assigned project staff.
• Provide post-implementation troubleshooting, quality assurance, and issue resolution.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding system functionality and system modification status.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of experience in defining and analyzing business requirements, process modeling, functional systems design, configuration, or acceptance testing is required.
• Experience supporting a specific business area such as claims processing, membership processing, or provider relations is also required.
• Prior experience working with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files, specifically 834 enrollment and disenrollment transactions is required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing technical design documentation, including data flow diagrams and entity relationship models. Experience developing SQL scripts for data updates and utilizing database tools such as MS Access for data review.
Preferred Qualifications

• A college degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience in the healthcare industry may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Demonstrated analytical skills, self-motivation, and the ability to operate effectively in environments with ambiguous requirements.
