Position: gWMS Functional Expert
San Jose, CA Onsite
Key Responsibilities
The resource working will be a gWMS Functional Expert in:1) WH Automation2) gWMS Feature requestsUnderstanding logistics business operations, host Warehouse Management Systems, and automated Material Handling Equipment.Functional solution architecture, interface design, end-to-end process orchestration, and testing integrations with KNAPP Warehouse Control System (KiSoft WCS).1. Functional Architecture & Process DesignEnd-to-End Automation Workflows: Lead functional blueprinting for automated warehouse processes, including Goods-to-Person (GTP) picking, decanting/induction, tote/carton auto-consolidation, multi-deep case storage/retrieval, and automated replenishmentWMS–WCS Interface & Data Contracts: Define interface specifications and message handshakes (RESTful APIs, message queues, socket communications) between gWMS and KNAPP KiSoft WCS (e.g., container routing, order line releases, pick confirmations, exception handling)Traceability & Inventory Integrity: Ensure system logic supports strict serial number (SN), country of origin (COO), and transaction tracking across WMS, WCS, automated stations and manual fallbacks2. Implementation, Testing & CommissioningSpecification Authoring: Author comprehensive Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), user journeys, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)Testing Lifecycle Management: Develop test strategies and lead execution across Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)Floor Validation & Emulation: Partner with controls and automation engineers to validate station ergonomics, pick-to-light/put-to-light workflows, scanner configurations, and system recovery protocols under emulated and live loads.3. CollaborationCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Logistics Operations, Systems Engineering, Project Management, IT Network/Infrastructure teams, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to maintain high-availability warehouse execution.
