Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke m/w/d | Duisburg, Germany | Hybrid This employer is a key player in the energy transition, actively contributing to climate protection goals by realizing substation projects. They are looking for a dedicated professional to join their High Voltage / Substations division, playing a crucial role in bringing complex projects to life and ensuring the smooth flow of green energy. The Role • You will be responsible for commissioning tests on medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations, including special feed-in systems for renewable energy. • Analyze and resolve faults within protection and control systems, collaborating with internal expert teams to drive improvements. • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB). • Commission digital protection and control technology using modern testing equipment (e.g., OMICROM). • Contribute to the energy transition by supporting customer projects in energy transmission, distribution, and grid connections for industrial, wind, and solar parks. • Work collaboratively with project management, planning teams, and installation teams to ensure project success. What You'll Need • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering. • Proven expertise in protection/control technology, ideally with independent commissioning experience of switchgear and familiarity with communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104). • Experience with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI 4/5, Schneider MICOM S1) and testing software (e.g., OMICROM TestUniverse) is a plus. • Strong team player with a willingness to take responsibility, excellent decision-making and communication skills, and fluent German language proficiency. • Valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel regularly within West Germany (typically Monday-Thursday).
