2nd Line IT Support Engineer Peterborough (Onsite) 3 Month Contract 17.01 per hour Enchanced DBS - Updates Service Preferred

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a busy IT team within a school environment in Peterborough. Working closely with the IT Manager, you will provide day-to-day technical support across the organisation, ensuring staff and students receive a high-quality IT service.

This is a hands-on position supporting Microsoft technologies, resolving escalated support tickets, assisting with infrastructure projects, and helping to develop junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd line support for users across the school.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and system issues.
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365, Windows and Active Directory environments.
  • Assist with SCCM administration, software deployments and device management.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager on infrastructure-related tasks and projects.
  • Support, mentor and provide guidance to junior IT staff.
  • Manage and resolve escalated service desk tickets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and technical records.
  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all end users.
