The Role • Conduct ship checks on various classes of US nuclear submarines. • Research submarine construction drawings using specialized systems. • Create 3D solid models to optimize mechanical designs and develop 2D installation drawings. • Adhere to Military Specifications and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards. • Develop Lists of Material (LOM) and interpret Government Furnished Information (GFI). • Mentor and supervise junior Designer/Drafter staff. What You'll Need • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance. • High School Diploma/GED and a relevant Technical CAD Certificate or Associate/Bachelor's degree. • Five to six years of experience in 2D CAD drafting, preferably with AutoCAD. • Experience in creating 3D solid models using design software like Autodesk Inventor or SOLIDWORKS. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDF tools. • Physical capability to perform ship checks, including working in confined spaces and climbing ladders.
