We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing facility in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team.

The Role As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting the operational needs of the site. Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.<br />Responding to breakdowns and conducting effective fault finding.<br />Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults.<br />Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and efficiency.<br />Maintaining accurate maintenance records through a CMMS system.<br />Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.<br />Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.<br />Assisting with small projects, equipment upgrades, and site improvements.

About You We are interested in speaking with engineers from manufacturing, FMCG, food, packaging, logistics, recycling, automotive, or other fast-paced production environments. To be successful, you will ideally have:

A recognised Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City &amp; Guilds, BTEC or Apprenticeship).<br />At least 3 years' experience within a manufacturing or process environment.<br />Either a mechanical or electrical bias with a basic understanding of the opposite discipline.<br />Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems.<br />Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.<br />A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.<br />Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Desirable Experience FMCG or high-volume manufacturing experience.<br />Steam systems, water treatment or utilities knowledge.<br />Electrical testing and inspection qualifications.<br />Welding and fabrication experience.<br />IOSH Managing Safely.<br />Continuous improvement or project involvement
