Job Description

Role: Business Systems Analyst – Asset Management Middle Office & Reconciliation

Location: Austin, TX and Southlake, TX

Mode of Hire: Full Time

Experience: 9+ years

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically strong Business Systems Analyst with asset management middle office experience, especially reconciliation. The role partners with operations, technology, data, and vendors to define requirements, improve workflows, resolve data issues, and deliver scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business, technical, functional, and data requirements for reconciliation and middle office initiatives.

• Support cash, position, transaction reconciliation across internal systems, custodians, accounting platforms, and data providers.

• Translate needs into user stories, process maps, data mappings, specifications, test scenarios, and procedures.

• Partner with engineering, QA, data, architecture, and vendor teams on integrations, reporting, testing, implementation, and support.

Required Experience

• Business Systems Analyst experience in financial services, investment operations, or fintech.

• Firsthand asset management middle office reconciliation and exception management experience.

• Strong understanding of matching, break investigation, root cause analysis, tolerances, aging, escalation, and controls.

• Experience with investment data including trades, positions, cash, transactions, securities, pricing, corporate actions, and reference data.

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.

• Ability to interpret technical designs, mappings, logs, interface files, and application workflows.

• Experience with reporting or analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms.

AI and Automation Skills

• Practical understanding of AI, machine learning, or analytics for exception classification, anomaly detection, break prioritization, document analysis, and knowledge search.

• Ability to define AI use cases, data needs, success criteria, testing approaches, and human review controls.

• Familiarity with responsible AI, including privacy, explainability, oversight, and operational risk controls.

Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Several years of business analysis, systems analysis, investment operations, or fintech delivery experience.

• Strong analytical, documentation, facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with reconciliation or investment operations platforms such as VestmarkONE, SmartStream, Aladdin, Advent Portfolio Exchange, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of major asset classes and experience with cloud data platforms, APIs, Python, data quality tooling, or workflow automation.
