The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates has been retained by a leading-edge technology developer to identify a high-performing Controls Engineer to lead critical system innovations in Southwest Montana. In this role, you will champion electrical and software design initiatives for world-class processing and mixing systems serving global markets, including the Aerospace / Defense and Chemical sectors.

Operating out of Butte, Montana—a vibrant region situated within roughly two hours of both Big Sky Ski Resort and Yellowstone National Park—this position delivers an exceptional balance of career advancement and outdoor lifestyle. StaffRight Associates is managing this search on behalf of our premier client partner to find an engineer eager to design state-of-the-art solutions with immense commercial impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect comprehensive point-to-point electrical wiring schematics and select precision electronic component specifications while directly supervising system assembly and fabrication.

  • Drive baseline requirements and technical design frameworks for comprehensive electrical, software, and firmware architectures.

  • Execute end-to-end installation, field commissioning, and startup procedures for complex motion control setups featuring both rotary and linear servo configurations.

  • Formulate and deploy advanced custom control logic algorithms to elevate overall equipment processing performance.

  • Integrate embedded firmware programs and interface with electronic architectures down to the circuit board layer.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.

  • Proven track record (2–10 years) utilizing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming aligned with IEC 61131-3 Standards.

  • Hands-on mastery of Microsoft development environments and C# .NET Application Development.

  • Demonstrated experience with Motion Control Systems, Rotary Servo Motors, and Linear Servo Motors.

  • Specialized familiarity with Algorithm Development, Electronic Systems, Circuit Board Level Design, and Embedded Systems Programming.

  • U.S. Citizenship is strictly required due to nature-of-work security specifications.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Annual Base Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 (Direct Hire / Full Time)

  • Variable Compensation: Annual Bonus
