Azure Infrastructure Architect

Job Title: Infrastructure Azure Architect
Location: Hybrid (DC / Virginia area preferred; onsite initially, then as needed)
Duration: 6+ Months ( +Extension)

Position Overview

Seeking a  Infrastructure Azure Architect to support the team with design and expand the Azure infrastructure footprint. The role will focus on architecting infrastructure that connects seamlessly with minimal latency and supports expansion.

Key Responsibilities

·         Architect Azure infrastructure to support expansion of applications, tools, and overall platform

·         AI Infrastructure experience on Azure.

·         Design infrastructure that enables seamless connectivity with low latency

·         Define best practices and recommend tools suited for Azure infrastructure

·         Provide architecture direction to infrastructure teams and guide adoption of new architecture

·         Develop overall infrastructure architecture, including deployment of applications, infrastructure, and data replication

·         Design networking strategy, including connectivity between data centers and regions

·         Plan and design multi-region infrastructure

·         Evaluate and implement active-active architecture (current backup in South Central not suitable for this)

·         Perform infrastructure planning for expansion into new regions

·         Address overall infrastructure footprint including primary region and backup strategy

Scope Notes

·         Focus is on infrastructure (not primarily applications or data migration)

·         Some exposure to data and data products is required in the context of multi-region design

·         Role involves evaluating current setup and planning future-state architecture

Educational Qualifications:

• Required - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related or equivalent.
• Preferred - Master’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Big Data or Analytics or equivalent.

Travel:

·   Open to travel based up on the nature of the engagement.
