Job Description
Network Specialist - Regional Planning & Optimization
We are looking for a Network Specialist to join our RAN team. In this role, you will maintain radio network KPI metrics, conduct root-cause analyses, and directly resolve customer network issues to help deliver top-tier network performance and efficiency.
Location: Flexible across key UK hubs (London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Ipswich, or Glasgow)
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Perform top-down (county-level) and bottom-up (cell-level) drill-down analyses to identify and resolve abnormal performance changes.
- Issue Resolution & Action Planning: Investigate customer-reported issues, raise/manage remedy incidents, execute RF tuning, and submit network investment requests when infrastructure upgrades are needed.
- AI & Data Analytics: Feed operational insights into AI algorithms for anomaly detection and leverage advanced data analytics to drive continuous workflow improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations and managed service providers to ensure operational faults are resolved efficiently.
- Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship: Support and upskill less experienced team members while assisting the Regional Manager on priority tasks.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Mandatory Experience & Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Mobile Network RAN optimization, planning, and performance metrics.
- Practical experience with Huawei, Ericsson, or Nokia performance counters, parameters, and vendor alarm diagnostic data.
- Proven experience working within a live operational environment.
- Strong decision-making skills in complex/ambiguous scenarios with incomplete datasets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to justify actions and influence business decisions.
Preferred Experience:
- Drive survey analysis and coverage prediction modeling (using Atoll).
- Utilizing crowdsourced datasets to evaluate actual coverage and serving cells.
