Process Development Engineer

Process Development Engineer Location: North West Contract: 12 Months (Inside IR35) Job Type: Full Time, Shift Rotation Including Nights We are seeking a driven and skilled Process Development Engineer to join our dynamic operations team at a Top Tier COMAH chemical manufacturing facility. In this role, you will bridge the gap between laboratory research and full-scale plant production. You will lead process scale-ups, optimise existing chemical unit operations, and drive continuous improvement projects focusing on safety, yield, energy efficiency and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

• Process Scale up: Design, test and transition new chemical processes from bench-scale and pilot plant to full manufacturing scale.
• Optimisation & Troubleshooting: Analyse plant performance data, identify root causes of process variation and resolve technical bottlenecks.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all new and existing processes strictly comply with UK health, safety and environmental regulations (E.G COMAH, DSEAR, ISO standards).
• Project Management: Deliver engineering projects on time and within budget, managing cross functional teams from concept to commissioning. Key Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: Hands on experience in a chemical, petrochemical or highly regulated manufacturing environment
