Full time Permanent role<br />Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, overtime paid at 1.5 X / 2X, Weekly pay, pension, death in service, wellbeing programme, free onsite parking, excellent ongoing training, 2 x 30 minute breaks, cycle to work scheme Job Purpose of the Maintenance Engineer<br />We are looking for a safety-focused and motivated Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team on a permanent late shift.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.<br />The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to breakdowns, and ensuring the efficient operation of our MRF, SRF, and mobile plant equipment.<br />Main duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer<br />Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.<br />Perform routine greasing, inspection, and servicing of plant equipment.<br />Replace bearings, shafts, rollers, and other mechanical components.<br />Diagnose and replace hydraulic hoses and associated components.<br />Carry out breakdown repairs and fault finding on Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) processing equipment.<br />Assist with maintenance and repairs on mobile plant.<br />Reset electrical breakers and inverters and assist with basic electrical fault diagnosis.<br />Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.<br />Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any recurring issues.<br />Work closely with operations teams to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance.Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge required for the Maintenance Engineer Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, or similar role.<br />Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.<br />Experience working with conveyors, bearings, shafts, hydraulic systems, and production machinery.<br />Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an industrial environment.<br />Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br />Positive attitude and strong work ethic.Desirable:<br />Experience within recycling, waste processing, MRF, SRF, quarry, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.<br />Basic electrical knowledge, including breakers and inverter resets.<br />Basic welding and fabrication skills.<br />Mobile plant maintenance experience
