Job Title: RAN / O-RAN Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Consultant

Role Type: Consultant / SME (Not a Full-time Role)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced RAN / O-RAN Subject Matter Expert to provide technical consulting and architecture guidance for 4G/5G Radio Access Network deployments. The consultant will support customers in network planning, design, optimization, integration, and Open RAN transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SME support for LTE and 5G RAN architecture and deployment
• Design and review RAN solutions for macro and small cell networks
• Support Open RAN (O-RAN) architecture, interfaces, and deployment strategies
• Review RF planning, capacity planning, and optimization activities
• Perform network performance analysis and troubleshooting
• Support RAN integration, interoperability, and testing
• Review KPI analysis and optimization recommendations
• Provide technical guidance for multi-vendor RAN environments
• Collaborate with engineering, deployment, and operations teams
• Support customer technical discussions and solution presentations

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Telecom Wireless experience
• Strong expertise in LTE and 5G NR
• Hands-on experience with RAN planning and optimization
• Experience with O-RAN architecture and interfaces
• Knowledge of Near-RT RIC and Non-RT RIC
• Experience with CU/DU/RU architecture
• Understanding of 3GPP standards
• Experience with Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, Mavenir, Parallel Wireless, Rakuten Symphony, NEC, or Fujitsu solutions
• Experience in network performance analysis
• Strong troubleshooting skills

Preferred

• Experience with cloud-native RAN
• Private 5G exposure
• Automation using Python
• AWS/Azure/OpenShift/Kubernetes knowledge
