Cloud Migration Consultant

Our client is seeking a hands-on Cloud Migration Consultant to take ownership of a focused, business-critical AWS-to-Azure migration with a firm production cutover date. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully led complex cloud migrations firsthand and is comfortable owning the technical execution, cutover planning, rollback strategy, and go-live support from start to finish.

What You ll Do:

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end migration and production cutover of a Windows-based application environment from AWS to Azure.
• Build the Azure environment in partnership with Cloud and DevOps teams, including Windows VM infrastructure, private networking, and Key Vault.
• Configure and monitor continuous replication from Amazon RDS MySQL to Azure MySQL Flexible Server, managing binlog retention, replication lag, and database promotion.
• Plan and execute the migration of S3 object storage to Azure Blob Storage, including sizing, transfer strategy, and egress considerations.
• Conduct two timed cutover rehearsals, develop detailed runbooks, execute the final production cutover and rollback plan, and support post-go-live hypercare and AWS decommissioning.

What Gets You the Job:

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience personally executing a production AWS-to-Azure migration with a strict downtime window and tested rollback strategy.
• Strong experience migrating and replicating RDS MySQL to Azure MySQL Flexible Server, including binlog replication, lag monitoring, and promotion.
• Experience migrating large-scale S3 object storage to Azure Blob Storage and planning for AWS data egress.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, Windows Services, and Azure IaaS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure networking, private endpoints, Key Vault, and infrastructure as code; Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or legacy .NET Framework experience is a plus.
